Brooklyn Dragon Fest part of NYC celebration of Chinese culture

Started in 2023 by founder Biubiu Xu, Dragon Fest is a Chinese food festival that pops up across NYC throughout the summer and stops in Brooklyn’s Park Slope on June 16. The festival is sponsored by the locally beloved restaurant Nan Xiang Xiao Long Bao and features a variety of Chinese cultural activities and vendors.

Traditional food vendors line the streets.

“We are thrilled to bring Dragon Fest back with an even more ambitious lineup,” said Xu. “Our goal is to make Chinese culture and cuisine more accessible to everyone in New York City, and this year’s expanded schedule allows us to do just that.”

Dragon Fest’s Brooklyn event will take place on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 267 7th Ave. Vendors will line the streets selling Chinese street food such as dragon’s beard candy, tang hu lu and soup dumplings. Over 100 varieties of Chinese food will be available.

“Hosting esteemed vendors and brands, the event offers a unique blend of traditional dishes, arts, and cultural exhibits,” said the press release. “The festival aims to become a nationwide celebration of Chinese food and culture.”

From global brands to local artisans, both traditional and popular foods will be provided.
